In 5th Grade ELA, we use the Pearson Scott Foresman ReadingStreet Series. Reading Street utilizes classic and soon-to-be-classic literature, and scientifically research based instruction to nurture a love for reading. All ELA instruction is aligned to the Common Core State Standards.

Spelling Sentences due tomorrow, Tuesday, April 11. Students were given plenty of time to complete this assignment in class on Monday. However, if a student did not finish in class they must complete it for homework. This is a graded assignment!
Students are required to write an essay in conjunction with the Jefferson American Legion. The topic is: "Should the National Anthem of the United States be changed? Why or why not?" Specific information was passed out to all students (bright yellow paper) on Tuesday, January 24. Students should follow the five paragraph essay format we have been using all year in class. This information is attached. This is a MANDATORY assignment and all essays will be graded.
