My goal is for my student's to start to enjoy English Language Arts, MORE! I would like to see them reading and writing for enjoyment! I plan to provide my student's a welcoming, warm, positive, and encouraging learning environment.
We are currently using Reading Street Common Core reading program. We also read several novels throughout the school year in conjunction with the reading series. We focus on the writing process and how to write and respond to reading selections by using Text Dependent Analysis. The ELA class is an 80 minute block, that we work very diligently to cover everything we need. My goal for the sixth graders is to be ready and successful students this year and prepare them for their transition into Middle School.
