Title 1

Jefferson-Morgan School District
Title I Program

The Jefferson-Morgan School District implements a school-wide Title I program.  This means that all students and families within the district may utilize resources and professional development that are paid for with Title I dollars.  A school-wide program uses Title I funds to upgrade the entire educational program of the school. Title I funds can be used to serve all children.  Through the confines of the grant requirements, the district is able to allocate resources to include reading intervention, technology, learning software, school supplies, and more.

What is Title I?

Title I is the largest federal assistance program for our nation's schools.  The goals of Title I are to provide a high quality education for ALL children, provide extra supports to students in need, to reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments, and to increase parental involvement within schools.

How are Jefferson-Morgan Title I funds used?

Jefferson-Morgan uses its Title I funds to support reading interventions, class size reduction teachers, school and classroom supplies, professional development for faculty, staff, and parents, technology, educational software, remediation materials, homeless resources, and parent involvement.
